Ta DA!

See, I told you I had something awesome in the works. (Note: if you are still seeing the old FlyCatcher banner at the top of this page you must empty your cache so you can see the new one!!) For over a year now I have been operating under the name FlyCatcher Photography. I had thought long and hard about picking a name back when I was starting this business and for some reason naming it after myself just wasn't what I wanted. Well, that has changed. The more I grow into this amazing adventure the more I want it to be mine, with my name on my work, my website, everywhere. I have been so lucky to work with an awesome designer the last couple of weeks on a new logo, one that really fits who I am and what I want my business to be about... But that is only ONE of many changes. Very soon I will have a new site for you all to visit, a whole new set of packages (hint: simpler IS better!), and even an entirely rad new way of thinking about photo shoots themselves! The new site isn't up yet, but you can go ahead and bookmark the url now: www.rebeccamurphyphotography.com. I am hoping to have it live by the end of next week, so it won't be too long before you can all see what I have been working so hard on these last few weeks! I cannot tell you how excited I am! Have a great weekend everyone!

(And just because no post should go up without an image... I think this little man is plotting something...) :)

Happy New Year!

Does anyone else still feel kind of stuck in 2008? I am entirely unprepared for a new year. I have so many unfinished projects and loose ends from last year, its as if 2008 is oozing like a big blob over into 2009! I have a whole new line up of offerings for the new year, should I ever find the time to release the details!! I am planning big updates to this blog and to my website...it all just takes so much time! I love being the captain of this ship, but because that means all decisions must go through me, I'm not gonna lie to you, it takes a lot longer to get things done than I ever would have thought. But I am plugging through and I think you will all be quite excited about the big reveals I have in store!

But, I digress... I really wanted to pop on the blog today to share some more ADORABLE shots from little G-man's newborn shoot. The more I went through his gallery and played with his photos the more I was just taken with this little guy. I really cannot wait to shoot more and more newborns, so please if you know someone who is expecting don't hesitate, send them my way and make both of us REALLY happy!!

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you are enjoying the fresh start!

Merry Christmas!

Holy Moly, I can't believe it! Christmas has come and gone, New Years is right on top of us and I haven't posted in weeks! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I really enjoyed spending time with family up in NH and Santa was very good to me!

Perhaps one of the best presents Santa gave me came a little early. Remember that fabulous maternity session from a few weeks ago, well that little bundle decided to make his debut in perfect time for a pre-Christmas photo shoot! Little G was an all-star during his shoot and his mom and dad were awesome; relaxed and up for anything! I was so stoked to get to hang with them and I think we might have a new contender for the cutest baby! N & J enjoy your sneak peek below! I am hard at work on your gallery, and I hope to sneak a few more up here tomorrow... I can already tell I have some new ALL TIME favorites, and I will totally need to share! Thanks! Enjoy!

Giving is AWESOME! - CT/NY Photo Giveaway

You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography --  over $1000 worth, to be exact. The creative fee, over a dozen prints, even a bunch of digital negatives; it's in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in CT or Westchester County NY. Tell me who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : rebecca@flycatcherfoto.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve -- get nominating! I can't wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season -- and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Rebecca

Just a few more...CT Maternity Photography Session

I know I promised a few more shots from my fabulous maternity session a few weeks ago, so here are a bunch of my favorites. I am so excited to shoot more moms-to-be! To be honest, the whole "human being growing inside your belly" thing totally wigs me out, but it makes for some amazing photos! Especially when the soon to be parents are as adorable with each other as these two were! Thanks again N & J!

Oh the anticipation!!!- CT Maternity Photography Session

I think I may have found a new favorite subject: the belly!! This particular belly belongs to a lovely lady, N, who I was so lucky to spend some time with a couple of weeks ago. Her and her husband welcomed me into their gorgeous home and we snagged some really amazing shots of this special time. I can't wait for the little bundle to show up for their newborn session!!! Thanks again N & J, you guys were awesome! Here is only one shot from the day, I will post some more soon and your gallery is in the works! Enjoy!

Brrrr...CT Family Photography Session

Remember how cold it was last Saturday? Well, it wasn't cold enough to keep the W family and I from doing our mini shoot!!! We braved the 23 degree (PLUS wind chill!!!) weather to get some great family photos! I met little A and her mom back at Littleville a while ago, and this time she brought along her older brother M. While A wasn't having the best time in the freezing cold you can see it didn't slow M down at all! Thank you so much W family for enduring the chilly weather with me. It was so much fun shooting you all, I hope we can do it again... maybe in the summer next time! Enjoy your sneak peek!

A Twofer! - NY Child Photography Session

Take a look at these two ADORABLE girls!! Their mom was given a gift certificate for a session with me and she (fabulously!) booked right away! I love how excited she was for their session! We really just had a nice, relaxed, time; eating toast in the morning, feeding the birds, and going for a little walk around their gorgeous home. It was great spending time with you N Family, thank you so much, and enjoy your sneak peek!!
